Well, I know what is on my Wish List this Christmas! Although, living in Alaska, I don’t always get what I want due to the over-the-top, outlandish, unusually-high, extraneous shipping and handling costs we are so prone to. One would think we are in an entirely different country altogether. Recently I attempted to purchase some made in the USA pencils for $14.95 and the shipping was $19.00. Yelp!

Anyways, most of you that order from us are located in the contiguous/continental United States…

Ok, on to my Wish List…

Here are the first 5 of the top 20 things I want (either for me or my family), all made in the USA!

Chocolate Lovers…

1. The Chocolate Chambery Reproduction Painting by the Artists Guild of America, found at Bellacore. Made in the USA.

2. Frango Mints – originated from Seattle, my old stomping grounds! Mmmm to have one melting on my palette right now… These were a very special treat my father would buy for me on the weekend. We’d take the Metro 16 to downtown and go to Frederick & Nelson’s for this mouthwatering delight. Seriously, in my book: the best chocolate mints in the world!

Coffee Lovers…

3. Raven’s Brew Coffee. Roasted here the AK, btw. More specifically, their Wicked Wolf blend (also available in Certified Organic blend)!

Hmm it says on their website of this blend,”Superlative after-meal coffee with awesome applications as accompaniment to chocolate desserts!” Do I see a pattern going on here?Aside from my usual Starbucks Pike Place blend, this is my second choice for morning joy.

Not into this scary looking coffee (even though it tastes like Heaven)? Perhaps you’d be more inclined to try one of their other Alaskan roasted blends.…

For the future sports enthusiast…

Holiday or Formal Outfits Made in USA

This photo was taken Easter 2010. How lovely are the boys’ knicker sets? They are made in California by Just Darling. The girls’ dresses are custom made by Teeny Bunny. When I first happened upon the dress the ribbon was originally light pink. Then I asked the designer to make it black to match the boys’ outfits and voila! That’s what I love about made-to-order!

Well, not officially. Just that we found them online via stillmadeinusa.com! These tube socks, 100% made in the USA, are designed and made by Skatersocks.com. The don’t come in fancy packaging (just held together with a rubberband), but that reduces our carbon footprint, doesn’t it? These come in infant sizes too and in a variety of colors. Stock up on socks for the entire family… We got these 5 pairs for $19.00!
